Awkward Coincidence

Have you ever been on your way somewhere and totally oblivious to everything else around you, then someone snaps you out your daze of minding your own business to non-verbally let you know you’re not going to rob them?

Let me explain!

So… One day I was heading somewhere and I’m guessing this woman (black woman, early 40s) walking near me was unknowingly heading in the same direction. I shrugged it off as no big deal as she bounced along with maybe four grocery bags and her Shake-N-Go hair. I thought it was no big deal. Moments later…

She began to make it a big deal…

…Let me explain!

We walk down maybe a block and a half and end up waiting at the same place. I wasn’t paying her much attention until she kept looking back as if to see if I was still walking that way or not. I shrugged it off as odd and continued to “mind mine”… I was also wondering what this lady’s issue was. It wasn’t until we arrived to our mutual destination that involved sitting and waiting that the obscure timidity escalated.

This could only get worse.

She sat down and to my good fortune, the only other available seat was next to Ms. Shake-N-Go so I thought “here goes nothing” and sat down while continuing to “mind mine”. This lady had the nerve to clench her bags as if I was going to run off with her tv dinners. I was slightly offended. I couldn’t wait for this mini ordeal to end, because she had literally made something out of nothing.

…………Or maybe I just look like a grocery grabber.
